An excellent example of the highly collectible Rolex Submariner Date reference 16610LV “Kermit,” dating to 2004 with a F-serial and featuring the particularly desirable “Flat 4” green bezel insert. Offered as a full set, this is a superb early example of one of the most sought-after Neo-vintage Submariners.
Introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner, the 16610LV was the first Submariner to feature Rolex’s now-iconic green colourway. Early examples are especially sought after by collectors, with the Flat 4 bezel- distinguished by the flat-topped numeral 4 in the “40” marking- being an important characteristic associated with the earliest Kermits.
Condition is excellent throughout. The case remains razor sharp with strong, well-defined proportions, while the bracelet and overall watch present beautifully, showing only minor signs of wear consistent with careful use.
Complete with its original box and papers, the combination of F-series production, Flat 4 bezel, excellent condition and full-set provenance makes this a particularly compelling example of the original Kermit and an increasingly collectible piece from an important period in Rolex sports-watch history.
